Indoor FIDS displays usually show the origin/destination of flights, the arrival/departure times, the number of the boarding gate and any service messages on sliding lines. This information assists passengers during their flight so that they feel more relaxed and therefore more prepared to go shopping or have a coffee.

In addition, these monitors could also alternate information to passengers with advertising messages (see multimedia TFT system): Although the devices may be equipped with different electronic or computer components, the uniformity of style throughout the terminal is guaranteed by the use of the same aesthetic.

Indoor solutions use both LCD and LED technology. All screens are available in numerous formats, configurations (single-sided, double-sided or bilateral) and orientations (horizontal or vertical).
