Launched at Busworld Kortrijk 2013 in collaboration with many public and private partners, Ellisup is the name of the new public transport concept by Iveco that aims to enhance public transport operators’ productivity and quality.

The bus is fully electric with 8 km of autonomy that charges in only 4 minutes at dedicated stations. Both high passenger capacity and comfort are guaranteed with the use large open interior spaces, wide panoramic windows, and colored lights.

The passenger information system (PIS) is innovative and manages a wide variety of dynamic information on seven displays for the front, side, and rear. Five LED signs—two for the front and three for above each door—are dedicated to the line and destination, while two extra-large full color LED display placed between the three doors show dynamic video and images for advertising, cultural, and tourist information.

Ellisup is not the only project that caught the attention of France. In 2013 Irisbus (now Iveco Bus) provided Grand Nancy with a total of 24 BRT buses that belong to a larger project of enhancing the quality and the image of local public transport. On these buses are installed about 100 Aesys full color LED signs that allow to get a wider quantity and quality of passenger information.

Additionally, along the 13.5 km route connecting the Northern and Southern parts of Nancy, each of the 39 stations featured a ticket machine totem with an Aesys TFT display showing the arrival times of approaching buses.
