Parking guidance system

The Mercury Parking Guidance System is a network of directional LED parking signs installed at varying points of a city that direct drivers to the nearest open parking area. Each sign is composed of the name and direction of the parking area with an LED component showing the number of open spaces.

Each directional sign is kept up-to-date by a central control center, which tracks the parking availability through a parking control unit at each parking area. An LED sign can be installed at the entrance of each parking area that indicates if parking is available or full. Additionally, more detailed information can accompany the directional signs with the installation of a variable message sign (VMS).

The Mercury system allows drivers to find parking faster, resulting in reduced congestion, reduced car exhaust, and happier drivers. The parking system can be linked with the public transit network to encourage drivers to park their cars outside the city center.
